Sports Premium
Schools receive PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6.
The funding is determined by how many pupils in our school attract the funding using data from the most recent school census.
Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive £1,000 per pupil.
Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
As a schools we must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE and sport we offer.
This means that we will use the premium to:
- develop or add to the PE and sport activities that we already offer
- build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining Doddinghurst Church of England Junior School in future years
Swimming
Following updated guidance from the DfE regarding PE and sport premium funding, schools are required to publish how many Year 6 pupils have met the national curriculum requirements relating to swimming and water safety. (Please see attachments below.)
Each pupil is required to be able to do the following:
- Perform safe self-rescue in different water based situations
- Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- Use a range of strokes effectively, for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke
